JKA worked as a sub-consultant to Estolano Advisors on two feasibility studies that focused on revolutionary freeway cap projects in the City of Los Angeles. Hollywood Central Park (HCP) and Park 101 are two potential projects aimed at reuniting communities and improving connectivity, livability, and walkability in the regions through the development of open green space and parks. JKA provided GIS support for the potential development of an enhanced infrastructure financing district for the Friends of Hollywood Central Park, a non-profit dedicated to building the HCP. A GIS land use database was created using data from the City of Los Angeles and other public agencies. Utilizing the GIS database, JKA prepared illustrative maps and summary land use and program projections to assist with the project financial analysis. The second study consisted of site and design feasibility for the Park 101 project in downtown Los Angeles. Deliverables included 3-D diagrams illustrating potential development envelopes, costs, and livability factors to be considered for development.
