Ventura DRC Meeting

Last week, the City of Ventura, working with JKA, held a special meeting with the City’s Design Review Committee to gain insight into community understanding of Ventura’s architectural character. Participants were given stickers to indicate their likes and dislikes of a wide variety of building styles in Ventura. JKA then presented our understanding of Ventura character and how objective design standards could begin to establish a minimum basis of Ventura-related design performance for new developments. Together, City staff, JKA, the Design Review Committee, and the community discussed what architectural elements they’d like to see translated into the coming objective design standards.
