JKA, working as a sub-consultant to transportation planning firm KOA Corporation, Inc., leads the urban design and architecture component of an alternatives project that is establishing the engineering and design criteria for a new Metro rapid transit line along Van Nuys Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley. JKA is contributing strategic planning services related to transit oriented development and specific designs for light rail, tram, bus rapid transit, and curbside rapid bus options. The JKA scope of work includes prototypical designs for station stops, bikeway planning, and visual communication of evolving transit concepts along the seven mile corridor.
